Policy
Overview
This Policy applies to http://www.ContractWars.com
and all websites and URLs controlled or operated by ContractWars, Inc.
unless otherwise specified. This privacy policy applies to all users,
even those who read and approved a prior policy. This policy lists the
information we collect from users of the Site and how we use that information.
ContractWars may change this privacy policy without notice from time
to time. Please visit this page for updates and changes. Continued use
of service following changes in this policy will mean that users accept
those changes. Regardless of later changes or updates, ContractWars
will not use your information in a new way without first providing you
with an opportunity to opt-out. Also, please review the Terms & Conditions that govern your use of this service. If
you are a service provider, please also review our Terms & Conditions for Service Providers. Our privacy policy
is considered part of those Terms.
Your Personal
Information
ContractWars may ask you for certain pieces of information
in order to setup your account and for the purpose of using our services.
We may ask for your name, address, phone number, and email address for
the purpose of communicating with you. By submitting your contact information
you consent to the use of this information by ContractWars, companies
interested in providing the services you request, or people interested
in receiving the services you offer for the purposes of contacting you
regarding the services you request or perform, providing account service,
or for other reasonable business matters. ContractWars may disclose
information it has collected from any user of the service and/or content
any user has made available on the service when it believes in good
faith that the law or legal process requires it, or when it is necessary
to do so to protect the rights or property of ContractWars or others.
We will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with
any other third parties for their marketing purposes without your consent.
If you submitted to us your email address, but decided not
to complete the registration process (either by submitting a project
or registering as a member service provider), we may send you an email
inquiring as to why you did not continue the process. This will be a
one-time-only email for the purpose of improving our service. If you
are a registered user, we may send you emails occasionally to service
your account, inform you of new features, and to inform you of interested
service providers/leads, new messages on the message board, new estimates,
etc. If you would like to stop receiving emails from ContractWars, you
can do so by logging into your account or by contacting us. If we believe
that you are knowingly or unknowingly not receiving our emails because
they are blocked or being marked as spam or for any other reason, we
may contact you by another means, such as telephone, to try to correct
this problem.
If you are requesting a service, once
your project expires, you may still be contacted by service providers.
If you are a service provider, you agree
that you understand that when you purchase a lead, your company profile
and contact information become available for viewing by the individual
who submitted the project. It is important to provide this information
to the user so that they can make an informed decision about who to
hire.

in the following ways only: 1) ContractWars related communications that
are not unsolicited commercial messages, 2) any other purpose that a
user expressly agrees to after you tell them the purpose you would like
to use it for. In all cases, you must give users an opportunity to opt-out
and a chance to review what information you have collected about them.
In addition, under no circumstances can you disclose personal information
about another user to any third party without our consent and the consent
of that user. You agree that other users may use your personal information
to communicate with you in accordance with the Terms and this Privacy
Policy. Note that law enforcement personnel and other rights holders
are given different rights with respect to information they access.
ContractWars and our users do not tolerate spam. Therefore, without
limiting the foregoing, you cannot add a ContractWars user to your mail
list (email or other mail) without their express consent.
Aggregate Information (non-personally
identifiable)
We may collect general information about user activity that
does not contain any personally identifiable data for the purposes of
tracking advertising effectiveness, improving services, etc.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data tied to information about the user
and stored on the user's computer. We use session cookies, which terminate
when the user closes his/her browser. If you choose to click the box
that says "I would like to stay logged in between visits. I am
not on a public computer" then persistent cookies may also be set.
Third party advertisers may use cookie technology. Please read more
about third party advertising below.
Log Files
Our servers collect information in log files, as most other
website servers do. This information includes internet protocol (IP)
addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit
pages, platform type, date/time stamp, etc. This information is collected
for the purposes of marketing, improving the website, analyzing trends,
gathering aggregate information about the users, etc. The information
collected in log files does not contain personally identifiable information.

This site may contain links to other sites. ContractWars is not responsible
for the privacy practices or the content of these other websites. Please
read the terms and privacy policies of all other websites you visit
and be careful when disclosing your personal information to others.
Third Party Advertising
We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads on
our behalf and to monitor certain pages of our website for the purpose
of reporting web traffic, statistics, advertisement click-throughs,
and/or other activities on our site. Any information that these third
parties may collect using cookies or other technology is completely
anonymous. We have no access or control over these cookies once these
third parties have been given permission to set cookies. Therefore,
this privacy statement covers only the collection of information by
ContractWars, and not by any advertisers or other third parties.
Security
While we employ several different security techniques, we
do not guarantee security of information or that unauthorized access
will not occur. Servers that store personally identifiable information
are located in a supervised and/or locked facility. While on certain
pages, such as the page that allows you to submit credit card information,
the lock icon on the bottom of certain web browsers becomes locked meaning
that the page is "secure" and your information is encrypted
as it travels from your computer to our servers. Pages that are availabe
to the casual visitor or "surfer" will usually be unlocked.
Although we strive to protect your privacy and use industry standard
practices, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions
or private communications. Since this is beyond our control, we do not
promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information or
private communications will always remain private.
Canceling Your Account
Upon your request, we will deactivate your account, and delete
your information from our active databases. Such information will be
deactivated as soon as reasonably possible based on your account activity
and other factors. However, you should not expect that all of your personal
information will be completely removed from all of our databases. We
will retain in our files some personal information you have requested
to remove to prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes,
troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Terms,
comply with legal requirements, etc. Your information will be kept from
public view if you request account termination.
Business Matters
In the event ContractWars goes through a business transition
such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion
of its assets, users' personal information will, in most instances,
be part of the assets transferred. If this occurs, your information
will not be used in a new manner without you first being informed of
the change and given the opportunity to opt-out.
